Los Angeles saw the presentation of a new 2021 Audi e-tron Sportback electric coupe based on electric Audi e-tron. Sportback is sportier version and coupe look should attract to younger buyers. The first units arrive in spring 2020 with a price tag of 71,350 euros.
There will be two variants on offer, the weaker with one electric motor and the stronger with two electric motors. The difference is in battery strength, which means more or less autonomous driving with a single charge.
Audi said at a presentation that they charge their batteries at up to 80% capacity in less than 30 minutes on a fast charger. It is recommended to charge up to 80% to extend battery life. The Sportback 50 speed charger is 120 kW, while the Sportback 55 is 150 kW.
2021 Audi e-tron Sportback Exterior and Interior
Physical design doesn’t make much difference compared to a regular e-tron. The standard offer is 19 inch wheels, while you can optionally take 20 or 22 inches. S-line variant brings some change in form of rear spoiler, a differently designed bumper and sport-tuned suspension with attractively illuminated S-line label.
An air resistance coefficient of 0.25 means better aerodynamics that this version allows 10 km more autonomous rides than regular e-tron. The interior will almost be no different. Just a few sporting details to highlight Sportback label.
2021 Audi e-tron Sportback Powertrain
With this vehicle the focus is on battery and electric range of 466 km. The basic version bears the mark 2021 Audi e-tron Sportback 50 with electric motor and battery of 71 kWh. The power of 313 horses and 540 N/m give acceleration from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) for 6.8 seconds. Top speed is up to 190 km/h. Electric range about 347 km.
Upcoming 2021 Audi e-tron Sportback 55 quattro is top range with 95 kWh battery. Two electric motors provide 360 horses and 560 N/m with 466 km electric range (WLTP standard). Acceleration 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) is for 6.6 seconds with maximum speed up to 200 km/h.
We must to mention S mode as sports regime available for no longer than 8 seconds. His job is to deliver 408 horses and 664 N/m. This reduces the acceleration time to 5.7 seconds. Both versions come with all wheel drive, but the rear wheel drive is likely to be the most useful to save electricity and extend the radius of travel.
