2021 Cadillac Escalade start from around $78,000

General Motors luxury division Cadillac announce launch upcoming 2021 Cadillac Escalade as the start of the fifth generation of this luxury SUV. The main advantage of the outgoing generation will be independent rear suspension, updated engine, new technology and higher quality materials. Sales can be a problem here due to price increases when we consider all the changes that are coming. First of all, due to the strong competition of the Lincolon Navigator and the BMW X7.

2021 Cadillac Escalade

The fifth-generation brings changes

The design retains a boxy look but will be the changes that are necessary. We have to mention new grille, sportier rear bumper, sleek headlamps and new wheels. A bit more elegant should receive from Escala concept. Optional wheels will be 24 inches.

2021 Cadillac Escalade Interior

The basic problems that new generations need to solve are reflected in the fact that the Escalade looks poorer than its competitors. This applies to space as well as material choices. New 2021 Cadillac Escalade should offer at 20 cubic feet of space behind the third row seats. Luggage space behind first row seats should increase to 100 cubic feet. Finally space behind the second row seats should grow to at least 55 cubic feet.

Some of the novelties should be:

  • genuine wood trim
  • Alcantara leather
  • optional carbon-fiber
  • OLED displays on dashboard
  • instrument cluster and the infotainment display under one roof (slika dole)
  • new rear entertainment system with larger screens
  • Bluetooth headphones

2021 Cadillac Escalade Engine

The main advantage of the drive unit should be the use of the new platform. Its use will not change the company’s 6.2 L V-8, but it will open the possibility of a hybrid version. Updated 6.2 L V-8 coming with about 450 horses which represents an increase of 30 horses. The current model has almost got an automatic transmission with ten speeds, so it should be expected in the next generation. Independent Rear Suspension and All-Wheel-Drive System are not new, but rumors suggest the possibility of a new supercharged engine with over 500 horses.

The hybrid drive cannot use the outgoing CT6. We are thinking first of all of the 2.0 4-cylinder engine with 335 horses. This is small and it would be better if they put in some V-6 engine. Of course, two electric motors with perhaps a stronger 18.4-kWh battery could remain in the system. But it wouldn’t be bad here to see a little boost.

Release Date and Price

The current fourth generation has been on the market for 6 years. The new generation will premiere in February 2020. A lot of changes should have the effect of increasing the price. We expect the new 2021 Cadillac Escalade to start at $78,000 for the base model to $98,000 for the most expensive trim level. The longer wheelbase ESV edition will add an extra premium for another $3,000.
