Jeep went public with the launch announcement for 2021 Jeep Renegade and Compass model for 2021 edition. Both model receive their gasoline-electric version in summer 2020. It’s basically the same gasoline engine. But the company add a new rear-axle electric motor that has the task of improving off-road capabilities and economy.
2021 Jeep Renegade Design
Instead of classically describing the design, we will emphasize that the hybrid version is only 120 kg heavier than regular. Essentially TrailRated version provide pass through water to a depth of 60 cm.
2021 Jeep Renegade Interior
At least change the train in the cabin. This is all about electrification. The battery is mounted in a central tunnel. Which should not harm the comfort.
2021 Jeep Renegade Plug-in Hybrid
We will have to wait for the summer of 2020 to see the commercial version, but the announcements show that the base will remain the same. With the fence that the novelty is the addition of a 136-horsepower electric motor. Mounted to the rear axle with controlled 260 N/m. This is very important because it allows for better off-road driving. Torque distributed between both wheels of the rear axle.
This further means that the basis remains turbocharged gasoline with 4 cylinder and 180 horses. For the transfer of power used an automatic transmission with 6 speed.
Total output provide acceleration from 0-60 mph (0-100 km/h) for 7 seconds. Using only battery-operated electronic drive, it is possible to travel approximately 50 kilometers. And reach a maximum speed of 130 km/h. A great addition is a powered generator, which charges the battery when the Renegade braking.

For now know that the new hybrid Renegade launch is early 2020. We are waiting for the transition of production from Mexico to Italy. A hybrid Compass model should be produced at the same place and at the same time (summer 2020). There are no rumors about prices for now.
