The American company has long wanted to revive its models that belong to this very popular class in the US market. Upcoming 2021 Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer come with 3 rows of seats and several engines based on Ram 1500 truck chassis. The main competitors will be Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban from one side and Ford Expedition from other side.
Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer Exterior
We recently saw a redesign of a Ram 1500 pickup truck. Its chassis should be the base for the construction of a large body with three rows of seats. Although many want to see at least parts in retro design, there is little chance of them happening. However expect modern design from this. Above all that’s been the Jeep philosophy for years.
2021 Jeep Wagoneer Interior
As for the cabin look, we know there will be 3 rows of seats. Unfortunately, there are no shots even with camouflage. Grand Cherokee interiors, on the other hand, can be an inspiration, but remember that there are announcements that it will also have changes in the coming years.
Standard or optional expect:
- large touchscreen
- smartphone-integration (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto)
- wireless phone charging
- Wi-Fi hotspot
- adaptive cruise control
- lane-keeping assist
- automated emergency braking
US company engineers can borrow an engine from Ram 1500. This mean 3.6 L V-6 engine with a 8 speed ZF automatic transmission. This engine in the future opens up the possibility of a hybrid drive. The 5.7 L V-8 Hemi engine with eTorque technology can serve as a more powerful version. Drive is possible on all wheels or rear wheels.
Jeep is known as a company that does not make much fuel savings. A weaker engine can consume 20 mpg in city and 25 in highway drive. Powerful Hemi can consume 17 mpg in city and 23 in highway drive.
Perhaps stating this may open the possibility of a 3.0 L V-6 diesel engine. For instance we estimate its consumption at 22 mpg in city and 32 in highway drive.
Release Date and Price
The media says that these are models for 2021. Therefore I personally think production may start in 2021 but will only sell next year. It’s still too early to talk about prices, but looking at the competition may suggest a price. New 2021 Jeep Wagoneer should start from $45,000 while 2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer should start from $55,000.
