Volkswagen, believe it or not, has reached the third generation of its popular SUV. Under the label 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan gets more responsive style, more technology and a soft sport line. Record sales were recorded in 2018 when over 800,000 units were sold. In the desire for a further breakthrough in the market, preparations for the third generation began.
Exterior and Interior Changes
One of the most important changes will be growth at about 4.55 meters. The wheelbase will be around 2.7 meters. Allspace variants include 4.80 meters and provide space for 7 passengers. The side view should clearly define the line that will give the coupe a look.
From the outside and the inside, we should expect a lot of details that we have seen on company models such as T-Cross and T-Roc. Here I am thinking first of all of the sports style and the LED taillights on the trunk. Then to advanced technology with a new multimedia system and digital cluster.
2022 Volkswagen Tiguan Engine
The engine range should include gasoline and diesel engines. There is no doubt that gasoline line contain turbocharged 1.5 L and 2.0 L TSI engine. This first should be available with output of 130 and 150 horses. Second TSI engine comes with about 200 horses. Here we have to mention the high-performance variant with the R mark that can hold up to 350 horses.
The diesel line is hard to predict. However, we will probably see a 2.0 L TDI engine with 150 and 200 horses. Driving is possible on all wheels or on the front wheels. We also expect a hybrid option, but there will be no electronic drive only option.
Release Date and Price
It’s still early days to talk about the place and timing of the promotion, but the third generation has been hailed as the 2022 edition. This should mean promotion during 2021. We expect the base model to start at € 32,500.
