2022 Ford Fiesta Specs, Price, MPG, & Release Date. New 2022 Ford Fiesta continues with changes and upgrades. As you probably know, Ford ended fiesta’s production in the United States. This model is still available in Europe. The first spy photos of the 2022 Fiesta are already available. The images are showing a facelifted Fiesta. However, redesign is still not on the cards.
Instead, Blue Oval opted for a subtle facelift and the interior will also host a couple of interesting updates. Ford will also upgrade its crossover-like Fiesta Active model, which is great. From what we know, Fiesta will use gasoline engines exclusively and the sales will begin in the first quarter of 2022. Price could slightly increase, but we don’t expect a significantly higher price, whatsoever.
2022 Fiesta Facelift
The spy shots of the 2022 Ford Fiesta are showing a mid-cycle facelift, as we expected to happen. The prototype comes with heavy camouflage, so some exterior parts are still a mystery. It seems like the most significant upgrade will happen on the front fascia, as you can easily spot additional plastic covering.
The headlights and the front grille are slightly revised. The rest of Fiesta hosts upgraded lower bumper and probably sharper lines on the doors. Besides that, we don’t expect to see more visual updates of any kind.
Fiesta ST and Fiesta Hybrid Specs
Nothing will change under the hood. The 2022 Ford Fiesta continues to offer the same engine lineup as the current model. As you know, Ford introduced a 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine with a mild-hybrid setup. It is a 48-volt system with an integrated belt-driven starter-generator. A 7-speed automatic transmission is relatively new, so we don’t expect a new gearbox in the near future. The hybrid variant generates 123 horsepower.
According to Ford, this powertrain is by 15 percent more efficient than the previous 1.0-liter engine with 100 horsepower and a 6-speed automatic transmission. The rest of the engine lineup includes a 1.1-liter, 1.0-liter turbocharged engine with three different outputs. A 1.5-liter turbo engine with 200 horsepower is available in the Fiesta ST variant.
Interior Updates
Unfortunately, spy images didn’t provide any sort of interior details. The 2022 Ford Fiesta will probably host minor cabin upgrades. A small car will surely introduce an updated infotainment system and possibly more standard features. New upholstery is just a rumor at the moment. The cabin wears a recognizable modern design, although the base trim level won’t satisfy all your needs.
On top of that, the interior room is limited, especially in the back. Reliable reports are predicting updated touchscreen, dashboard, and center console layout. Lastly, Fiesta will gain an adaptive cruise control system as well.
2022 Ford Fiesta Price, Release Date
The sales of the upcoming 2022 Ford Fiesta will begin later in 2021 or in the first quarter of 2022. Blue Oval carmaker didn’t provide the exact launch date, but the price will start at around $23,000 or ₤ 17,000. The crossover-like Fiesta Active model will also hit the dealerships. The all-new Ford Puma could arrive as a nice alternative for Fiesta in the United States.
